About Me
I thought I would write about myself in this space rather than ask you to subscribe to a series of articles to provide a guide or opinion about a particular video game.
I have been a video gamer since my dad brought a video game system with pong, something akin to “Duck Hunt” and some other paddle game. I don’t remember; it was the simplest thing, but it entertained us.
Later on, my parents bought me a Video Game System from Sears, aka Atari 2600, then after that, I had an Apple IIe, which I also used for gaming (Elite (precursor to Elite: Dangerous), Spy’s Demise, Conan, Captain Goodnight, and good ol’ Castle Wolfenstein). I rolled into the X86 (386sx, 486, Pentium, Pentium 2, etc.) and also owned several Silicon Graphics workstations, where I would, among other things, play VRML games.
I have played on many consoles and countless video games, and my Steam account was up there when Valve released Half-Life 2 via Steam.
I have also gamed with some of the best people I know and was part of the infamous group Goon Squad from Something Awful and the juggernaut Goonswarm.
During the dawn of Discord, I created, along with IamKale#0023, the Goon Discord Network (a federated authentication platform and Discord bot that spanned over 100+ discord servers and served over 10,000 Goons until dead internet comedy forum drama killed it.
So the last thing I have on my gaming bucket list is to write about video games, and what better place than to do it in Substack and become a Steam Curator? Some people do it for the money. Me? I do it because I love video gaming, and if I can provide insight to other fellow gamers, then why not.
This was the way.
